Dyliżanse Awards Gala

From 1998 "Dyliżans" (Stagecoach) Beweekly, lastly in cooperation with Saloon.pl, has been organizing "Dyliżanse" Plebiscite rewarding the most popular country music artists in Poland and their achievements. The Plebiscite ranges 12 categories and is run in 3 steps - candidates proposing, voting for nominations (3 in each category) and final voting for winners. The Plebiscite follows the model of American plebiscites - the one of Country Music Association and of Academy of Country Music - and, just like those, rewards vocalists, bands, instrumentalists, CDs and songs. However, the Polish Plebiscite is adjusted to our specificity, considering also categories like "Without Barriers" (for other genres artists who included country songs into their repertoires) or "Without Borders" (for foreign artists who performed in Poland). The unique category in "Dyliżanse" Plebiscite is also the category for dance groups.

The Plebiscite is finished by the Gala Concert, when the results are announced, the statuettes are handed in and the winners perform in live concert for the fans who were voting for them. Last year the Gala Concert was organized in Mrągowo during the 28th International Festival "Piknik Country 2009". Among guests who honoured us with their presence and participation (handing in Plebiscite statuettes) were Mr Victor Ashe - Ambassador of the United States of America in Poland and Dr Jarosław Bauc - ex Minister of Finance of the Republic of Poland.

This year we managed to move the Gala Concert to Warsaw, which - as capital city - is the best place for such event organization. So, it is held on 24th of April 2010 and is coorganized by the City of Warsaw (Ochota District) and supported by the TVP Warszawa television and Radio Warszawa.
